NIMA Labs is a blockchain R&D Hub with offices in Belgrade and Toronto. We design and build protocols that serve real use in decentralized finance. Our work is defined by depth, precision, and systems built to last.

We spoke with Konstantin, one of our senior blockchain engineers, about what brought him to NIMA Labs and what keeps him here.

1. How did you first hear about NIMA Labs?

My girlfriend saw the job post on LinkedIn and showed it to me. It caught my eye because there aren’t many teams here in Belgrade operating at this depth. I wanted to build something real with people who really understand the tech and can deliver, so I decided to apply.

2. What made you decide to join?

When I spoke with Nikola, the founder, I saw clarity. He had a vision, a direction, and trust in his team. That was enough for me. Most blockchain projects start without a real plan and try to piece it together later. NIMA Labs was different. It had structure, a solid technical base, and clear reasoning behind every decision.

3. What was your first impression of the work?

At first, it felt chaotic because of the pace. There was a lot to build and not enough hours in the day. But as I settled in, I saw consistency. Everyone delivers. There’s focus, no ego, and there’s definitely a shared sense of accountability. You can question decisions and challenge ideas. People listen here, and that’s rare.

4. Which project has been most interesting for you?

The one I’m wrapping up now: MEV & Routing. It brings all layers together under a single logic. It forces you to think about how each layer interacts. You can’t fake your way through it. It’s the kind of technical challenge you only find in a few places.

5. How would you describe the culture at NIMA in a few words?

Technical, focused, and direct. We don’t waste time in meetings, and no one hides behind titles. If something’s wrong, you fix it. If you have a good idea, you test it. That comes with freedom, but also responsibility.

6. How do you see your work contributing to the broader ecosystem?

Every piece we build connects to something larger. Working across the stack, you see how much even small changes can move the entire system.

7. Would you recommend NIMA Labs to other engineers?

If you’ve never been inside a mine, look it up. What we do here isn’t far from it. It is hard work, but it’s worth it.
